(WIP) Northeast Coast Collection Update

Ok, sooo thankful that little post-camping head-cold didn’t take me down too much! Back, to share are a few more designs I’m crafting with home, the Northeast, in mind!

Some are obviously closer to “finished” than others, and I have a few other ideas up my sleeve I’m considering to include. If you’re on the BTG mailing list, you’ll be first to know!

“Roots Below”

I had originally left quite a bit of material around all these roots, but you didn’t like the shades, so I ended up cutting them out, so the fine “tendrils” are much more visible from a distance, against the skin. I’ve only made three, and each one I free-hand drew directly on the metal, so no two are alike…intentionally, just like our own roots ☺️ (There’s been a bit of corner and edge cleaning up since I snapped this pic)

“Home Away”

The tent is a mere representation here. Ode to the quaint homes away from home that us adventur-y folk make, the expansion of energy by deeper self-reliance, and the grounded-ness felt by un-plugging. And because I love the handmade signs in parks and quaint storefronts discovered in our travels, the wood-grain speaks to abandoning commercialization, embarking on new territory “…where the neon’s turn to wood…”. Ok, name that song!

Path to Fine Sands

This design was inspired by the treasures that emerged (thanks to heavy fog) along the foot-path to a most special and hidden Maine beach. My family and locals refer to it as “Fine Sands” beach. Hardly any rocks, often many sand dollars. You know you’re almost there when you can hear the waves and smell the seaweed. Making your way down the path is half the joy of going to this beach. It’s laden with conifers and tree roots, straight out of a fairytale… This year, there were SO many conelets sprinkled on the spongy forest floor, and we had to bob and weave our way around puddles from recent rain, only to discover tons of newly emerged mushrooms! It appeared to be their heaven…or maybe mine?

Mini Kelp

I wanted some smaller pieces in the collection too! With similar curls and handmade detail, these are inspired by the Seaweed Current pendants I shared in the first WIP update. These little babes are roughly 3/4” long.
